Fred Muwema is a seasoned legal practitioner with 30 years’ experience in public and private law. He is a founding partner of Muwema & Co. Advocates, a leading law firm in Uganda through which he has handled numerous ground- breaking commercial litigation in Corporate Finance, Intellectual Property including litigation relating to falsified drugs and drug inspection.
He is also a co-founder and Chairman of the Anti-Counterfeit Network (ACN), an entity that spearheads efforts to combat counterfeits (CFs) and substandard products (SPS) in Africa.
Fred has participated in many conferences organized by the International Trademark Association and has also conducted several anti-counterfeit trainings in and outside Uganda for brands, customs officers, criminal investigation department, public prosecutors, judicial officers etc. He is passionate about creating public awareness on CFs and he hosts an online program titled the ‘league of the genuine’.
Currently, Fred is a key resource person supporting the legislative process of the Anti-Counterfeit Goods & Services Bill 2023 which is before the Parliament of Uganda.

A graduate of Makerere University with a Master’s in Business Administration, she combines analytical insight with leadership to drive sustainable results.
At ACN, Angela plays a central role in ensuring the smooth delivery of projects through sound financial oversight, streamlining administrative processes, and coordinating resources effectively. She also serves as the organization’s primary contact person, leading stakeholder engagement and supporting high-impact media campaigns.
Angela is known for her solutions-oriented mindset, commitment to compliance and accountability, and her ability to bridge operational structure with creative execution. Passionate about social impact, she leverages technology and compelling communication to advance the company’s mission and visibility.
As General Manager of the Anti-Counterfeit Network Africa (ACN), Malavu William Billy provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to the organization's mission of combating illicit trade across the continent.
With over 15 years of senior management experience, he is responsible for guiding ACN’s strategic direction, coordinating high-level stakeholder engagement with government and private sector partners, and ensuring the effective execution of anti-counterfeiting programs. His leadership is central to driving ACN’s advocacy efforts, resource mobilization, and the development of innovative solutions to protect consumers and economies.
Mr. William brings a wealth of cross-sectoral expertise to the role, having held key leadership positions at FHI360, Shell Uganda, and TNS RMS East Africa. His distinguished career encompasses sales and distribution management, retail operations, market research, and business development, all underscored by a proven ability to lead multicultural teams and manage complex projects. A graduate of Makerere University, he is a strategic thinker and decisive leader committed to advancing ACN’s vision of a counterfeit-free Africa.
Benam Sserwanga is an IT specialist with 7 years of experience, known for delivering effective and creative IT solutions in networking, system administration, and cybersecurity.
He is proficient in managing IT infrastructures and has extensive knowledge of various operating systems and content management systems, his ability to implement scalable and secure IT solutions has also consistently contributed to improving system performance in dynamic environments.
Throughout his career, Benam has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, allowing them to adapt to evolving industry needs and drive innovation within IT operations.
Cynthia is a results-driven IT professional with experience in software development, business analysis, and health information systems. She has contributed to impactful projects such as the KenyaEMR upgrades and the eWaste Management System, bringing value through system support, user training, and front-end development. Her collaborative approach and strong technical skills have enhanced system usability and performance across various sectors.
Proficient in technologies like PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and Agile methods, Cynthia also holds certifications in PRINCE2 and Huawei HCIA. She is passionate about digital health, sustainability, and empowering others through technology, as seen in her mentorship work and continuous efforts to innovate and learn within the IT field.
Dr. Milka Singh is a seasoned consultant in training, education, and business development with over 26 years of experience in human capital development and corporate capacity building. He currently serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Clarke International University and has extensive expertise in business development, organizational transformation, and industry turnaround strategies.
Dr. Milka holds a PhD in Business Administration, an M.Phil in Entrepreneurship, an MBA in Finance, and an M.Com in Cooperative Management, alongside a background in psychology. His work integrates psychological analysis with business strategy to enhance leadership, negotiation, and performance outcomes.

Edna is an accomplished Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialist with a strong foundation in public health, holding a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH). She has 7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing M&E frameworks for health and development programs.
With a proven track record in managing and evaluating projects, Edna has successfully led diverse initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and strengthening community health systems. Over the years, she has also gained valuable experience in stakeholder engagement and customer relations, ensuring responsiveness to client needs while fostering strong community and partner trust.
Ismail Muyinda heads Marketing at the Anti-Counterfeit Network (ACN), where he oversees strategic partnerships, marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement to drive the organization’s growth and visibility in the fight against counterfeit products.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, as well as certifications in Project Planning and Management, and Renewable Energy and Climate Change, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to promoting consumer protection and sustainable development.
Allan is a strategic leader and commercial deal-closer with over 21 years of experience founding and scaling high-growth ventures across the beverage, agribusiness, and technology sectors. He specializes in market entry strategy, regulatory advocacy, and navigating high-stakes commercial negotiations to drive rapid product adoption in emerging markets.
As the founder and CEO of Wine Garage, Allan established a nationwide premium brand and cultivated a network of over 300 high-value B2B accounts, including top-tier hotels and retail chains. His expertise spans international trade compliance and rapid consumer brand building, having successfully directed market entry initiatives involving key government regulators and industry leaders, such as the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and the Ministry of Water and Environment.
Allan holds a Bachelor of Mass Communication from Makerere University.
