The Anti-Counterfeit Network (ACN) convened its first-ever CEO Structured Dialogue, bringing together industry leaders to address the growing prevalence of counterfeit products, services, and the broader counterfeit subculture in Uganda and the region. The dialogue highlighted the significant threat counterfeits pose to legitimate businesses, foreign direct investment, employment, and public health.

Participants emphasized that decisive and coordinated action against counterfeiting is essential—not only to safeguard consumers, businesses, and government interests, but also to strengthen investor confidence. Such efforts are critical in positioning Uganda as a secure and intellectual property-friendly investment destination.

In partnership with the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), ACN hosted CEOs, Legal and Corporate Affairs Directors, and Brand Protection Agencies for this landmark engagement. The dialogue provided a platform to examine the economic impact of counterfeits and to collectively develop strategic interventions.

The session concluded with the signing of key resolutions by participants, marking a unified commitment to intensify efforts in combating counterfeiting and protecting the integrity of Uganda’s marketplace.
